The Accidental Mission
Annie and Eva often choose the path that is calling them. It makes their daily walks so much richer.
Talking about calling, I was recently featured in a podcast called ‘Women on a Mission’ by my amazing friend and highly respected inside-out leadership coach, Sue Revell. (Click here to listen to the podcast)
Sue always talks about a mission being ‘the one thing you cannot not do’! I love that because it reflects my own experience. On paper my choices didn’t make sense but I couldn’t not follow the call.
I believe that is often how our hero’s journey starts. It’s not a lifestyle choice, nor does it come with a simple ‘set a goal and plan your three steps to success’ recipe. It’s a calling home to yourself.
A mission asks of us to grow and BEcome the hero we have been looking for. It is full of the unknown and, even though there are many challenges, you cannot NOT choose to walk the path.
It’s a hugely challenging path to walk by yourself, although some of it must be borne alone. However, all heroes also need the support of others who believe in them. We can’t do all of it on our own because we aren’t meant to.
